Ganntrader

Introduction:

If you want to use Gann’s techniques, Ganntrader 3 is a complete Gann program available that you can turn to for help.

This software is Bill McLaren’s preferred software package. Bill McLaren is possibly the most famous exponent of Gann in the world appearing on CNBC and many other programs. McLaren helped design this software.

In this one package, all the methods that you must learn in order to make effective use of the techniques are built into the program.

These are:

the geometric angles

division of the range

7 times the base

squares of the high, low and the range

natural squares of 52, 90, 120, 144 and 360

What’s more, the study of the planet time cycles and aspects is an important part of Gann’s work that should not be overlooked. With this version of Ganntrader, all aspects of Gann’s methods that have been discovered have been included. In fact, other detracting technical analysis techniques have intentionally been excluded. You can be sure that Ganntrader 3 is pure unadulterated Gann.

GannTrader 3 moves your trading and analysis moves closer to Gann’s and also includes many Masonic Mystery Methods.

Imagine being able to  Square the Circle using Fib Ratios, Ratios of the Circle and the Squares of Numbers

Ganntrader 3.0 has been designed to allow you an easy way to test and verify each of Gann’s techniques that he describes in his books. That makes practicing the required techniques easy!

Features:

Up to 1200 price bars displayed, depending on video mode with unlimited zoom capability down to 10 bars on the screen.

Optional mouse support with pull down menus. Keystroke equivalents.

Built-in help displays.

Project blank grids with angles, squares, or planets out to future dates.

Optionally excludes weekday holidays in a trading day chart.

Print or display volume and open interest.

Print or display 5 or 6 trading day, 7 calendar day or 5 day charts.

Print charts at 8, 12, and 24 grids per inch. NLQ 24 pin printers print at 20 grids per inch instead of 24. Grid patterns can be 8×8, 8×10 or 10×10.     Charts can be over 50 feet in length and 8 or 13 inches tall. Multiple passes are automatically printed for later paste-up when necessary.

Gann Angles:

Draw angles from All highs and lows, Major highs and lows, Back 360 highs and lows andUser Selected highs and lows. Cycle counts of Selected angles are included in printouts.

- Back 360 angles are multiples of 360 time units (45, 60, or 72) from the cursor’s position.

- Individually enable or disable the 1×1, 2×1, 3×1, 4×1, 8×1, 1×2, 1×3, 1×4,1×8 angles. The rate of rise of the 1×1 angle can be set by the user.

- The slope of the angles is automatically adjusted for changes in the chart’sprice scale so that the 1×1 relationship is maintained.

- Individually enable or disable the up-trend, downtrend, up from lows, down from highs, angles from lows, highs or zero

Gann Squares:

- Natural squares of 120, 360, 144, 52, 60, 72, 180, 90 are created with a single hit of the number keys 2 through 9. Key 1 is reserved for a user defined “hot” square.

- Squares of the highs, lows or ranges can be created with a single keystroke. Up to 5  squares can be saved with each file setup.

- Unlimited when combined with batch mode.

- Individually enable or disable the 1×1, 2×1, 3×1, 4×1, 8×1, 1×2, 1×3, 1×4, 1×8 angles, Time Angles, Time Divisions, Price divisions inside the square.

- Division of the range and “7 times the base” can be converted into a square of the range with a single keystroke.

Gann Planets

- Print or display planet earth or sun views of longitude converted to price following Gann’s methods. The longitude to price conversion factor can be set by the user.

- Individually enable or disable each planet’s plot and any of the following planet aspects: 5/8°, 7½°, 11¼°, 15°, 22½°, 30°, 36°, 40°, 45°, 60°, 72°, 90°, 120°, 180°, 360° plus the zodiac sign divisions.

- The longitude and aspect distances for the date of the cursor are displayed for exact measurements

- Print or display the planet averages, MOF, CE, Average of 5, 6 and 9.

Gann Swing Charts:

New is Gann’s Trend Line Indicator and Main Trend Indicator.

The Trend Line Indicator is a price indicator.

The trend line follows the high or low price when the previous swing is broken by a certain number of points. The user can set this trigger point.

The Main Trend Indicator requires that the market make higher highs or lower lows for a certain number of days before the line is moved up or down.

Gann usually used 3 days in his work, but this value is also user defined.

With these indicators Gann was looking for an “overbalance” of price or time.

For example, if a market goes up for 4 days, reacts for 2 and goes up 4 days  and then reacts for 3 or more, Gann would say there was an overbalance of time since the market has more down days than before.

This would be an indication of a possible change of trend. Ganntrader adds a “Shade Swings” feature that gives a quick visual indication by the change in the widths and heights of the boxes surrounding the swing lines. Also, if both the Main Trend and Trend Line Indicators are on the screen at once, the boxes change to green on those periods when both indicators are moving in the same direction.

Make your Trading Day Easier with Batch Mode:

Information such as the chart scale, value of the 1×1 and planet angles, setup of squares and angles, type of daily chart and printer grid pattern can be saved for future use the next time the file is loaded.

The setup can be saved individually or as part of a group of setups in batch files. Each setup in the batch file can be scrolled to the screen by hitting the TAB key.

The setups in the batch can also be sent to the printer for hours of unattended printing.
